Bioenergies are renewable energy sources produced from organic matter, known as biomass, in liquid, solid, or gaseous forms. It provides a beneficial alternative to fossil fuels and plays a central role in the energy transition.
EDENGY has chosen to produce truly renewable energies. In practical terms, this means that we use plants instead of trees. The plants we select for our bioenergy production have a metabolism perfectly suited to the decarbonization needs of our societies. Their growth cycle allows for multiple harvests per year without interrupting the photosynthesis process. Their adaptability to extreme climatic conditions enables cultivation on marginal lands without affecting food crop needs, making them a beneficial substitute for fossil fuels.
EDENGY produces bioenergy from plant biomass, specifically C3 or C4 metabolism plants, sparing numerous trees and sustainably sequestering significant amounts of atmospheric CO2.
The production process is primarily powered by the excess energy contained within the raw material itself. The torrefaction reactor removes residual gases from the raw material, which are then used to generate the heat required for processing.
EDENGY uses biofuel derived from Jatropha Curcas seeds for its logistics, reinforcing our Net Zero Emission approach throughout the value chain.
